- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying

Start by cleaning the calamari, removing any skin and innards.
Slice the calamari into rings, about 1/2 inch thick.
In a bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, salt, and pepper.
Soak the calamari rings in the buttermilk mixture for at least 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour and paprika.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
Remove calamari from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Carefully place the calamari in the hot oil, frying in batches.
Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
